About Me
My name is Darren Heaps and I am a Photographer, video maker and educator living in Nottingham, UK.
My style of photography includes Wildlife, Nature and Landscapes and I am a keen Naturalist. I am a member of the Woodland Trust and the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust which are my main resources for my photography.
When the mood takes me, I enjoy doing Street and Portrait photography and regularly work with local models. I find the streets of Nottingham full of interesting architecture and people. I shall be posting some of my work taken during my visits to the city and the local wildlife habitats. All my work is ©Darren Heaps 2023.

Me & My Photography
I have been a photographer since I was 16 years old and began my photographic journey with a 110 film camera and a lot of enthusiasm.
I progressed into film with a Pracktica SLR and a 50mm F2 lens. I began developing and printing my own black & white film using Jessops brand film and paper and materials.
Later in life I attended the University of Nottingham for three years and studied Information Technology and specialised in Digital Media. The study was the basis for my editing skills and technical knowledge of digital cameras and photo-editing using Serif's Affinity Photo and Nikon NX-Studio.
For several years I acted as second shooter photographing weddings and family gatherings. Today I am semi-retired doing many styles of photography and some mentoring.
My camera gear includes several Nikon cameras and Lenses. I edit with Affinity Photo and Nikon NX-Studio.
